No way. When the Klingons attack, that plasma conduit is guaranteed to rupture and kill everyone in the back seat! Who thought this was a good idea? You can’t just rely on Shields the whole time, if it even has them!

It’s almost as stupid as running power conduits directly through the control interface so when it overloads sparks fly out and you get blown clear across the room ;)

I find it strangely impressive that humanity in the Federation has managed to invent warp drives, traction beams, handheld phasers and matter transporters all without the use of the humble relay...
